The struggle against the changing climate in the high Andes of Peru, as lived by Salvador Alejo Tunco, alpaca farmer and Mayor of the village of Santa Lucía.
Reading about the increasingly difficult winters being endured by inhabitants of the Peruvian highlands, the media focused mostly on the lack of preparedness of remote communities. I couldn’t understand how these changes could be unexpected if they are occurring more intensely and more frequent every year. Therefore, I sought to capture the battle against the changing climate and in witnessing this battle, understanding the people being affected most by these changes.
